All life is made from two rules: survive and have kids. Actions that promote survival and offspring like friendship, love, sex, pride and self-realization is rewarded with happiness, whereas unhealthy actions promote physical or psychic pain, like guilt. All thoughts, feelings and consciousness are illusions made by natural selection.
From young age we learn that family and friendship and love is important. This knowledge gives life a meaning and most people won't even question their own existence. In reality humanity is just as egoistic as every other organism. We take care of ours at the expense of our surroundings. But with our analytic skill humans may be the only organism with the possibility to realize how egoistic natural selection is and how meaningless life is.
Ironically natural selection has made sure people with this knowledge die out or live in silence. If you talk about it people will be offended because they believe they are valuable, and probably think you are depressed and send you to a mental hospital. Suicide is not an easy solution either because people close to you will suffer and they don't know suffering is an illusion. The best course of action is to bury the truth. Long live stupidity.
